An exciting opportunity has arisen at Huddersfield Wind Band.

 

We are looking to recruit  enthusiastic and committed musicians grade 5 and above to our community concert band led and directed by Mr. John Turnbull who recently won the ‘Arranger of the Year Award for Leisure Time Music’

In 2023 HWB achieved Platinum status at the National Concert Band regional event in Oldham securing a place at the nationals in Warwick where we gained a further gold award. The band has enjoyed repeated success at this event with further Platinum awards at the regional event in 2024 and 2025 , together with a further Gold award at the national event in 2025 at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester

HWB perform a wide range of music from different genres including film, stage, and contemporary works for symphonic wind orchestra.  The band  perform regularly at a variety of concert halls, churches, bandstands and private functions across the Yorkshire region.

All sections are the band are open apart from alto saxophone and in particular we are looking for  Euphonium, French horn and Tuba players .​

HWB rehearse every Tuesday 7.30pm – 9.30pm at Salendine Nook Baptist Church.
